For all the roses in Juárez –

the missing and the lost,

the survivors and the ones left behind.

Para todas.

Para siempre.

Every single woman in this play is based on a real person. And although some names have been changed for their protection, the violence they face and their resilience have not. I made a promise to these women that their stories would be heard by as many people as humanly possible, and through this [play], we are one step closer to keeping that promise — to bear witness and carry their stories forward. As a queer Mexicano from the border, I owe my entire existence to Mexican women. This play is for them. Para todas. Para siempre.

Antiracism

As Ibram X. Kendi said in his book, How to be an Antiracist, “The only way to undo racism is to consistently identify and describe it — and then dismantle it.” We commit to the ongoing, continual learning and unlearning to begin to negate the ways in which white supremacy is embedded into our society both implicitly and explicitly. We commit to sharing the stories of the underrepresented, providing representation and sharing what has been unfairly silenced due to racism. We hope to uplift BIPOC voices, sharing stories of joy, tragedy, hope, and all of the remarkable facets that come with the life experience of existing as a marginalized person in this world.
